Summary:
According to John Hardy, he explains that he built up a green school in Bali with his wife. He said that he will spend his rest of his life to improve the possibility for the world. That’s why he built a bamboo school mostly by hands in Bali. The bamboo school is extremely green. The classrooms have no wall and light because they use natural light. Also, the desks are not square in classrooms. The teachers have to write on bamboo black board or PVC white board since they try to decline using papers. In fact, the Governor of Bali has provided full approval of the generator installation and the ‘bringing to life’ of their own hydro-energy plant built together with the school on the Ayung River. It provides electricity every day and night, as well as Green school can use 100% renewable energy now. There are 160 children from 25 countries in the school. They learn how to get vegetables, cook, and live with animals locally. John hopes Green school is the model for the world and Brail. Be honest, I really want to visit this school. I think it was a really good environment for students. Nowadays, students have classes inside the building without natural light and plants. However, John built up green school with every natural material. I can’t believe that people can study in the extremely green school, but we can have this great environment now. Therefore, 160 children from 25 countries went there for studying. In fact, we should try to learn more about the environment, even thought we are busy with work and school. Moreover, I really appreciate that their lunch was fully natural and they left lots of spaces for animals such as cows and pigs. Children can feed the animals during the classes. I think it is the best way for us to learn how to live with animals. As John said, I also hope people can build up more green houses, restaurants, and industries around the school. Yes, Irene this school is amazing. Everything is natural. I cannot believe it. Nowadays we surrounded by buildings, technologies, and electronics, and we forget how to live with nature, animals, and dirt. I think this is the time that we have to start living with nature again, learn about it, and importantly we have to learn how to protect it. Furthermore, not just a good environment which this school has, but also good education plans. They also teach the students how to stay with nature and how to make things from bamboos, which are great ideas, and this school will create generations that love and protect environments.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Irene, and I want to visit the school, too. I really envy the students of green school for their environment. While listening to this lecture, a hard life of Korean students compared with a life of green school’s students came across my mind. Instead of enjoying nature, Korean students go to school early in the morning and spend nearly all day in a dull concrete building. In addition, it is also almost impossible to feel the nature after school because most of them go to private educational institutes to study even more. However, alternative schools have been established in Korea from several years ago. It is said that the students of the schools grow vegetables and keep animals similarly to those of green school. Nevertheless, they don’t live in extreme green, and they don’t have special things to play, such as mud wrestling or climbing bamboo trees. Indeed, they are nowhere near green school. In the end, there is no place like green school right now. Therefore, I also hope that more green schools are built in all over the world, just like a desire of John Hardy and Irene.

This is very interesting Irene , I wan too visit this school like Mild and HeaJin. This is very nice and unique idea to do for children. I think the environment can help the children to be more relax and they can can focus better in fresh air because it help the brain to work in better way than children are going to understand and have fun during their lecture. this children also can enjoy the nature and play with each other in a healthy way.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Iren. I really want to visit this school too, so I want to see how they study, and how they get vegetable, cook for themselves and live with animals locally. I cannot imagine that. I think people must be so interested in the green school. Another advantage for studying in this green school is to teach students how to get close with our nature , and maybe students can learn what is life and how life grow from the school. Therefore, maybe some people will find the real importance for them and they get life lessons from it. That will be great. I love to try and learn more about the life. Also, students learn how they can live with a healthy lifestyle. I also hope John can build more green houses, so I can have a try to study in it. That is a really good idea.
